CIBREST Scholar is the official institutional scholarly newsletter and continuing serial publication of the ChristoPress Institute of Biblical Research Studies and Theological Education (CIBREST).

 

Published from Nigeria, CIBREST Scholar provides a platform for communicating scholarly research, biblical-theological reflection, interdisciplinary inquiry, academic developments, institutional initiatives, scholarly opportunities, and significant contributions emerging from the CIBREST research and educational community.

 

CIBREST Scholar is designed to connect biblical and theological scholarship with the wider academic community by making research, ideas, institutional developments, and scholarly opportunities accessible to researchers, educators, students, ministers, professionals, and other intellectually engaged readers.

 

 

The primary purpose of CIBREST Scholar is to facilitate the communication, dissemination, and preservation of scholarly knowledge within and beyond the CIBREST community.

 

 

– communicating developments in biblical and theological research;

– presenting significant scholarly ideas and research perspectives;

– highlighting publications and research contributions of CIBREST scholars and associates;

– reporting CIBREST academic programmes, conferences, seminars, lectures, and research activities;

– introducing scholars, researchers, educators, and emerging academic contributors;

– announcing fellowships, research opportunities, academic programmes, and scholarly initiatives;

– promoting interdisciplinary research and dialogue;

– communicating developments in Scripture-governed research and methodological inquiry; and

– providing an accessible record of the intellectual and academic activities of CIBREST.

 

 

Although CIBREST has a particular commitment to biblical research, theological education, and Scripture-governed inquiry, CIBREST Scholar is not restricted to biblical scholars and theologians.

 

Its scope extends to interdisciplinary scholarship and welcomes intellectual engagement from fields in the arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, education, professional disciplines, and other areas of research where meaningful engagement with questions of truth, knowledge, values, human flourishing, and the interpretation or application of Scripture may arise.

 

Accordingly, CIBREST Scholar seeks to promote constructive dialogue between biblical-theological scholarship and other academic disciplines.

 

 

CIBREST Scholar operates within the broader intellectual vision of CIBREST, which seeks to advance research and education through a Scripture-governed approach to knowledge.

 

Particular attention may therefore be given to emerging research frameworks, theories, methodologies, and scholarly contributions developed or promoted within the CIBREST research community, including Grounded Truth Theory (GTT) and related approaches to biblical-theological and interdisciplinary inquiry.

 

The publication is committed to intellectual seriousness, academic integrity, responsible scholarship, clarity of communication, and respect for legitimate scholarly inquiry.

 

 

Depending on the issue, CIBREST Scholar may contain:

– research abstracts and summaries;

– scholarly essays and reflections;

– interviews and profiles of scholars;

– reports of research projects and academic events;

– announcements of new books, articles, journals, and other scholarly publications;

CIBREST Scholar should be distinguished from CIBREST’s formal scholarly journals.

 

CIBREST Scholar functions primarily as an institutional scholarly communication and continuing serial publication. It communicates research developments, scholarly ideas, institutional activities, opportunities, and other materials of academic interest.

 

CIBREST’s peer-reviewed journals, by contrast, provide dedicated venues for the formal publication of scholarly research articles subject to their respective editorial and peer-review procedures.

 

CIBREST Scholar may therefore highlight, summarize, or direct readers to research published through CIBREST journals and other scholarly outlets, while maintaining its own distinct identity as an institutional serial publication.

CIBREST Scholar is published fortnightly, subject to the publication schedule of CIBREST.

 

Each edition is identified by its volume, issue number, and publication date, creating a continuing bibliographic record of the serial.

 

Previous editions are preserved in the CIBREST Scholar archive, while selected or designated editions may also be deposited in an appropriate open-access scholarly repository for long-term preservation and discoverability.

 

 

CIBREST Scholar is committed to making its scholarly and institutional content broadly accessible.
